Tutors are absolutely mandatory in our full-time home school program and all students participate in a mandatory study hall program on a nightly basis. Acceptance to each school is cleared through the corresponding institution.
All costs and arrangements for academic tuition must be handled directly with the school's officials. This program allows students to capitalize on the NCAA rule that allows taking a year off prior to graduating from high school.
Once accepted to the academic school of their choice they will be issued an I-20 form. The I-20 form will secure a student VISA. Students should contact the specific school director for details. (Click here for school coordinates).
Total Fees: $650.00 per month (Does not include books). Students participating in The Academy at Roddick Total Tennis will receive:
Dear Parents,
My name is Kimberly Ann Murillo-Armstrong. I was born in Springfield, Ohio on March 16, 1982. I am the youngest of four children, and an Aunt to 10 wonderful nieces and nephews. I have been married for three years to my best friend, and an amazing husband Brad Armstrong, and the mother to two lovable "children", Joi (a Boxer) and Sable (an American Bulldog).
As a child, I enjoyed playing tennis and traveling to tournaments with my brother Andy. Summers were spent on the court, either teaching tennis or training. I was top 10 in Texas in juniors and went on to play college tennis at the NCAA Division II level.
While at The University of the Incarnate Word, I was able to expand on my passion for working with children through the Education Program. I graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word in December, 2005 with Honors, and a B.A in English, and received my teaching certificate in Special Education EC-12.
I worked in the Northside Independent School District for a year as an Applied Learning Environment teacher. I worked with severe and profoundly disabled children and taught them daily living skills (i.e. Grooming, Cleaning, Jobs, etc). It was my goal to help these children become independent and employable. It was an amazing experience and one I will always cherish.
The summer of 2007, following my third back surgery, I was offered the wonderful opportunity to work with the students at Roddick Total Tennis. This has been an amazing experience, and such an honor to be a part of this academy. I look forward to working with your children and assisting them in their goals for the future.
Sincerely,
Kimberly Murillo-Armstrong
